Barclays Bank Launches Mobile Banking

Barclays Bank of Kenya, the leading commercial bank in Kenya has launched a mobile banking facility called "Hello Money". This facility enables account holders transact seamlessly from the comfort of their mobile phones. Customers having linked accounts can transact very effectively from any of the accounts.
This new service has many features such as money transfer between different account, payment of bills among others.
To benefit from this service, registration is required and it is free at any Barclays Bank Branch countrywide.

The long awaited fiber optic cable in Kenya is now live. It will definitely reduce internet costs a great deal. However, a month since its going live, consumers are yet experience fast connections and cheap internet. Some ISPs have already adopted the broadband technology but they only been rolled out to their corporate clients.
Kenya's largest mobile phone company Safaricom is yet to adopt the new technology and it has already switched its campaign towards broadband modems and provision of affordable internet connection to cyber cafe.
