Fiber optic in Kenya at last

The long awaited fiber optic cable in Kenya is now live. It will definitely reduce internet costs a great deal. However, a month since its going live, consumers are yet experience fast connections and cheap internet. Some ISPs have already adopted the broadband technology but they only been rolled out to their corporate clients.
Kenya's largest mobile phone company Safaricom is yet to adopt the new technology and it has already switched its campaign towards broadband modems and provision of affordable internet connection to cyber cafe.
Many ISPs have disclosed that they will first have to recoup the hefty investment costs before reducing the connection fee and the reduction will be gradual.
